Mara Kozelsky Hunter - Russia’s War on Ukraine

Dr. Mara Kozelsky joins us to provide a historical background to the war in the Ukraine. Dr. Kozelsky is an expert on Crimea, the region at the heart of the recent war in Ukraine, examining the terrible toll violence has taken on the region’s civilians and landscapes in her most recent book, Crimea in War and Transformation. She has been traveling in and writing about Russian and Eastern European history since the 1990s and began teaching at the University of South Alabama since 2005.

Dr. Mara Kozelsky is Professor of History at the University of South Alabama, with an area of expertise in Russia and Eastern Europe. She has written numerous books and articles relating to the history of Crimea, Ukraine, and Russia.
