Zach Sierke - Connecting With Wild Clay

Zach Sierke's work connects our present world across generations and centuries, digging ancient clay deposits from the same pits used by his potter great-great-grandfather centuries ago, working these gifts of the earth into forms of beauty and function, and then leading firings of his anagama-style kiln that can involve days of tending and care by a team of artists and volunteers to bring forth pottery shaped by hands and marked by mineral and fire.
